Much like Storm Claudia tore through the northwest the night before, City overwhelmed United away at the their home ground. It was a emphatic three-nil triumph for the City coach's side owing to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their title credentials as they strengthened their standing at the WSL pinnacle.

Successive Losses for United

This result represented back-to-back WSL losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since spring 2024, placing them seven points off the table toppers with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.
